Academic Writing
– It is generally quite formal, objective (impersonal) and technical. It is formal in the sense that it avoids casual or conversational language, such as contractions or informal vocabulary. It is also objective as it avoids direct references to people or using feelings and emotions, and instead it puts emphasis in objects, facts and ideas. It is technical by using vocabulary specific to the particular discipline.
